We
are promoting two main tourism packages for those decided
to stay more than one day in the hotel, one is for 4 days
(3 nights) and the second one for 3 days (2 nights).
The main attraction are the trekking routes around the Lodge,
two of them focused in “experiential tourism”
(swap living experiences in a balanced relationship with nature)
and the two others focused in cultural tourism. The four trekking
routes have been selected on the basis of requiring a “medium”
physical effort.
As an alternative in some of these routes
you can ride horses; including the well known “Caballo
de Paso Peruano” (Peruvian step horse) supplied by
a local breeder.
The trekking tours are the following:
|
Salapunko Tour
| |
Starting from the Lodge you cross
the Urubamba river trough a bridge and after a short climbing
follow the first section of the Inca Trail, walking six
kilometers on a trail suspended over the valley until you
reach Piscacucho, where the first control of the Inca Trail
is located, then you cross the river again and walk west
following the train track direction during thirty minutes
until arrive to Salapunko Archeological Complex (an old
Inca fortress) .
|
In
this place you can rest and have lunch . From there you return
either by bus or walking on a trail surrounding the valley.
During the trek you can appreciate the snows peaks or the
Vilcanota range, specially the beautiful cone of the Veronica,
the native flora and fauna and a panoramic view of the Palomar
and Piscacucho rural settlements.
The tour takes seven hours. A bilingual
guide and lunch box are supplied.

Camicancha Experimential
Tour
| |
From the hotel you cross to the left
bank of the Urubamba valley trough a near by bridge and
then walk east in direction to the Silque ravine (a main
stream descending from the Vilcabamba mountains). The route
goes across the Primavera and San Isidro villages, where
a little colonial church from XVI century can be visited,
and climbs up to Camicancha community at an altitude of
12,000 ft. , where you can share lunch with a local family
before returning back to the lodge.
|
During the tour
you can appreciate the beautiful landscape, farmers working
with traditional plows and cultivating native crops (corn,
potatoes, etc.). Also you can visit an Inca building and appreciate
the impressive snows peaks of the Vilcanota mountain range:
Veronica and Wajay Willka.
The tour takes six hours and includes a bilingual guide and
lunch. This tour can partially be done riding a horse.

Palomar
Experimential Tour
| |
This tour is developed in the right
bank of the Urubamba valley. From the Lodge you walk in
the north-west direction along the valley until you reach
Palomar village, and from there you climb up a beautiful
ravine covered with native trees and flowers where you can
choose a place where to lunch. After the lunch you return
to the village and have the opportunity to talk with local
peasants and learn about their traditions.
